Paddington in Peru
It’s not surprising that the third movie in the Paddington franchise would be a comedown from one of the greatest sequels in movie history, but I wasn’t expecting this far of a fall. The charm of the first two just wasn’t the same, and as E points out, maybe that’s to do with the lack of London setting. I think a huge portion of the genius of Paddington 2 is that it’s so Wes Anderson coded, but it seems the new director, Dougal Wilson, thought that unnecessary? Anyway, despite the lack of charm and style, being a Paddington superfan, I did still enjoy this, and consider it a must watch if you’ve seen the first two already. It’s very funny in a few parts, and tugs on the heartstrings as it culminates. If you haven’t seen the first two, don’t start here.

This is definitely the weakest of the 3 in the series, but still a very fun watch! I loved Olivia Coleman’s character. The adventure aspect was also quite fun, but I really missed the charm of London acting almost as a character in the other two films. It just didn’t hit quite the same. Excited to see the future for this series though!

As a Paddington truther, this is one that I had to get in right away. The Paddington series is going for a perfect trifecta so there is a lot on the line. Did it hit it perfectly like Paddington 2? Sadly it fell a little flat to that, but you shoot for the moon, you may hit some stars. It was still a great film, that most won't believe, but had arguably too much Antonio Banderas. The charm was still there and is a must watch for all lovers of the series! Paddington 2, followed by Paddington in Peru, and then Paddington.
