Who’s the National Treasure here - the Freemason’s long lost antiquities or Nicolas Cage? It’s Nicolas Cage. He carries this ridiculous film into something so much more fun than it has any right to be. Always a treat to revisit.

Nostalgia is definitely padding my score a bit here, but I can’t help it - I would guess I’ve seen this movie 15+ times. And while the logic of the plot is a bit perplexing, the puzzle solving aspect of the heist is undeniably fun and sees Nicolas Cage in peak Nicolas Cage form - absolutely no one else could play this role like he does. An enjoyable rewatch!
