28 Years Later: The Bone Temple
Andrew Garfield is transforming the 28 Days franchise into something bizarre and wonderful, and I am HERE for it. While 28 Years Later was the best the franchise has produced thus far, The Bone Temple is a notch up the rung. While the focus of these films has become less and less about the infected in general, it’s for the best in my opinion, as the zombie genre is well treaded territory, and Garfield’s take on it is a breath of fresh air. Ralph Fiennes and Jack O’Connell put on an absolute masterclass of acting, and Sir Lord Jimmy Crystal and his merry band of Fingers are an absolutely fascinating watch. As Jord says, this film delivers an absolutely iconic scene at the finale of this film, that is pure C I N E M A, and will live rent free in my brain for the rest of my days. Go see this in theaters if you still have the chance to do so!

I was a little underwhelmed (especially compared to the ZEJ team + Austin) with the first installment of 28 Years Later, but I found this follow up an excellent expansion to the story. Just a really good horror movie, but the level of gore was a bit unsettling for me. Ralph Fiennes absolutely steals the show, and if you can handle the gore, I would whole-heartedly recommend!

In the ZEJ group + Austin I am the sole believer that this was not as good as the first. Reading on the internet I felt a little better about my decision but I am staying with it. This is an interesting addition to the film franchise that does explore different things, but ultimately not things that I was interested in. I really am interested in the rage virus and the world around it. I know we may have got the best scene of maybe the year with Iron Maiden blaring in the background, but overall I wanted more than it gave. Overall still extremely good, just not what I personally wanted.
